Week 2:

I'm really just focusing on confirming all the key parties to my project. The College of Business and my Speaker, which was put on hold when I realized his business card is at my parents'. I plan on presenting the college with the same proposal I made up for class, to make everything I'm considering clear up front.

Over Fall Break I hope to get all the key players taken care of, so that I will be able to survey students. I was thinking about my audience and if I just invite all students in the college of business I'm worried it could be a little much. I was thinking about limiting it to Juniors & Seniors. But I wouldn't want to turn away students that would be interested.

Week 2 - Soc/Anthro Club Project

As Week 2 is approaching, I feel a lot better about my project. After I finished my proposal and laid out the project, I know exactly what I need to do and by what date. After I meet with Dr. Sipes on Thursday, I really plan to get my project started.

Since finishing my proposal document, I started to make up some survey questions for the members of the club and the officers. I plan to take these questions with me to my meeting with Dr. Sipes to see what she thinks about them.

After the meeting, I will make revisions to my survey questions if necessary then I will print them out and administer them after fall break. I don't think I'll have much trouble with this beginning part of the project.

Week 2: PRSSA InDesign Seminar

I am about to submit my proposal. I feel confident in what I planned.

My feedback from Dr. Sipes suggested that I create a manual for all PRSSA members to have/take away from the seminar. Is this a good idea? It's another step for me, but it would probably be good for the members. My proposal does not reflect this idea, though.

Doing my proposal forced me to set a date for my seminar, so I feel much more accomplished!

Week 2

I am working on finishing up my proposal, it is proving to be a bit harder than expected. I am doing a PR campaign for the New Franklin Volunteer Fire Department.

So far the project seems like it will be enjoyable. The hardest part is going to be finding resources to help get ideas. That will probably be the next task to tackle. I plan on interviewing some members to see exactly where they think the problems lie for the department, and also talking to some other loca fire departments to see how they handle, or do not handle similar situations.

My ultimate goal is to get the community more invloled and raise funds for the department.

So far I've spent most of my time finalizing my proposal and haven't really started my project. I should be finishing the proposal tonight and am planning to begin the first steps of my project during this week.

The first thing I need to do is survey students to get an idea of their diet and exercise habits. To do this i'll need to get approval from the school board or whoever has to approve any kinds of surveys being done. Also this week I plan to contact people from The Slate and SUTV who will be able to help me publish the pieces I produce. Hopefully this goes smoothly so I can begin researching by the end of this week.

Week 1- Sean Gallagher

I have begun to organize information that will be helpful with my project to create social media guidelines for WSYC. Having knowledge of social media sites like Facebook and Twitter, I have some information that I can include in the guidelines already. Although, the guidelines will also include how to use it in a professional and appropriate way, creating a code of ethics to go along with it.

I have started to research different website layouts that could be used with the idea of a new, separate website from the club page. This is something that I will spend time on researching and finding the best program to use that can be easy for anyone to use, not just for those who know how to use HTML and can code.

Week 2 - Sarah Smith

I'm starting to put the finishing touches on some pages. I have most of the content finished, except for the major stories. All surveys and other sources of content are basically finished.

I finished most of the surveys this week and took the majority of the photos. I'm really happy with the outcome so far. It looks great and it actually looks like a magazine.

Next, I need to work on the big stories and finish them before next week. Also, I'll start deciding which order to put the pages in and organize content that way.

I'm beginning to realize that I absolutely love designing pages and get some weird creative, exciting energy when I do it. It's so convenient that editing can fix a few bumps in the design and make a page look so much better.

Next week, I'll add the new content and begin the editing process!
