Keeley-Week 5

Less than two weeks until the opening of SHAPE's Give the Gift of Art holiday exhibit! I have written a press release that I sent to my beneficiary to look over and send to the media contacts. Hopefully he has done that! He did send out postcards asking for artist submissions. So far I have only heard from 2 artists who want to enter work in the exhibit. This has be worried, but after talking to some people on the board, this is the way it usually works. In the next day or so I will be hanging up posters around campus and downtown. I will also be talking to the art department, asking for student's to participate.

I also am beginning to think about what food I would like to serve at the event. I will make a shopping list to make sure that I do not spend more than my $50 limit. Each board member will also be bringing a dish to the opening.

This Friday, Saturday and Sunday there are drop off hours scheduled for artists to drop off their artwork. I am hoping that there is a good turn out for this. Next Tuesday I will be hanging the event. My biggest fear right now is not having enough artwork! I'm trying not to freak out quite yet though. If you are looking for portfolio pieces and would like to put in a drawing/painting/photograph/etc. please let me know, and you can participate in the event! I am also currently looking for volunteers to sit at the gallery during gallery hours during next month. This is great for anyone who needs volunteer hours.
