My project is moving along well. After talking with Dr. Sipes, I've realized that I need to include in my proposal how I am going to measure my goal of informing my readers about head football coach Mark Maciejewski. I suggested asking some readers of The Slate what they thought of the article, and what they learned from it that they had not already known about him.
I also learned that I need a way to measure my goal of having a well-presented story package on cumberlink.com, for the story on Mike Frenette and Trevor Harman. I am going to have Jeff Pratt and Naomi Creason, the two editors at The Sentinel that are helping me put this video on the website, review my project and give feedback.
As for the first story I am working on, the feature story on football players Mike Frenette and Trevor Harman, which will appear in the Oct. 21 Sentinel "Football This Week" tabloid, the project is underway. I have been at practice the last two days filming and taking notes, and I interviewed both Harman and Frenette yesterday. Tomorrow I am going to interview coach Maciejewski, Friday I will try to interview Zach Zulli and Kevin Herod, two of the other members of the team who work most with Harman and Frenette, and I have to set up an interview with Cumberland Valley football coach Tim Rimpfel. I'm hoping to meet with Rimpfel on Sunday for an interview.
My deadline for the first story had changed. Instead of having it done on Oct. 15, like I originally planned, I will have it done on Oct. 19. I will try to start the story on coach Maciejewski on the 24.
