Shimandle Week 3

My plans for working on the beginning stages of my project over the break did not go so well, but now I'm back in the swing of school work and ready to go.

Before I left for break I send out an email to everyone that will be affected and involved in the project in hopes of setting up individual meetings. However, I think I set my expectations a bit too high because only two people responded out of the 10 or so people I emailed. I decided to take a different direction for the kickoff of the project. Instead of setting up meetings right away, I am going to send out a questionnaire to each person and give them a deadline for completion. I will fine tune the questions this weekend and send them out no later than Tuesday and set the response due date for a week later. I think taking the interviews in this direction will be not only easier on my time, but it will also help each officer to better detail their answers and come up with some questions or expectations they have for my project.

I just hope that I will get all the responses this time around.

Since I am an officer and two of the other officers are my roommates, meeting and talking with them is somewhat easier, schedules permitting; so, I was able to talk with one of my roommates who is the student advisor for CAC and she was able to better help me define her position. Her position is the newest to CAC and talking with her first was a good way to start because it gave me some guideline questions for each of the other officers, but I will probably also end my interviewing with her because it is necessary for the student advisor to have a high level of understanding for each position.

One interview down, many more to go.
