After creating my proposal I have a clear view of the steps I need to take. Next thursday I am meeting with the Director of the Counseling Center on campus. We are going to discuss specifics about things they already do to benefit freshman transition into college life as well as what he would like to see done. I am trying to arrange meetings with a few RA's as well.

Furthermore, I am beginning the research phase. I am starting to organize a few focus groups with current freshman to see what they are already aware of/not aware of. I am reviewing brochures from the counseling center to get an idea about facts/tips they already provide to students. I will be searching library databases to get national numbers of freshman with depression, transferring and dropping out.

After I do some research I will be able to begin designing my materials and hopefully after my meeting the the director and possibly some RA's I will have a better idea of what needs to be done.
